What is Stress?
Stress is the body's reaction to a pressure from a certain situation or event
Not all stress is bad stress. Sometimes stress that occurs over a short course of time can be beneficial. It can spur you into action, motivate and energize you.
Stress that occurs over longer periods of time cause damaging effects on your physical, mental, and emotional health if left unmanaged. Examples of areas that are affected include brain, heart, skin, immune system, intestines, joints/muscles.

Can't avoid stress but you can definitely work on it not becoming overwhelming
Exercise - even a short walk can boost your mood
At the end of the day, focus on accomplishments, not on what did not get done
Set daily and weekly goals. Focusing on the now gives you the control of the moment

Practicing these daily strategies can help minimize effects of stress
Relaxation techniques such as meditation, yoga, tai-chi are very beneficial
Eating right, exercising, and good sleep can help.
Take out time for yourself, even if it is only 30 minutes a day
Stay connected with family and friends that keep you calm and provide support
Stress does not have impact you negatively if you learn to manage it. Managing it can help you lead a balanced, healthier life.
